Class Policy All classes must be paid at time of registration or at least two weeks before class. If we cancel a class for any reason, we will return your class fee in full. If for some reason, you must cancel a class, we ask that you do so at least 7 days before class. There will be no refund otherwise. Thank you. American Pie Super cute, super fast, super simple. You will need a few ingredients to make this American Pie. Makes a great baby or twin size quilt. Come see our sample to see that this quilt truly is as easy as pie to create! Price: $40.00 Wed. Oct 22nd Sat Oct 25th Thurs. Nov. 20th 10am-4pm Basic Quilting Intro This is the comprehensive class you have been waiting for. In five day long sessions, you will learn it all, from fabric and thread selection, to cutting and piecing techniques, and finally to layering, quilting and binding your lap size quilt. 1st Day - Fabric selection and accurate cutting using rotary cutters, rulers, and mats. 10 am – 3pm 2nd Day – Begin piecing your quilt squares while learning how to obtain the accurate ¼” seam allowance needed. 10 am – 3 pm 3rd Day – Construction of quilt top. 10 am – 3 pm 4th Day – Layering the quilt sandwich. Learn assorted quilting techniques. 5th Day – Discuss proper methods for binding a quilt and finish up. 10 am – 4 pm Price: $100.00 5 day class Thurs. Sept. 11th Thurs. Sept. 18th Thurs. Sept 25th Thurs. Oct. 2nd Thurs. Oct. 9th 10am – 3/4pm “Bow-dacious” Bag We all want to carry a purse that makes everyone stop and ask where we bought it. Think how much better it will feel when you can say, “Well, actually I made it!” This “Bowdacious Bag” can be made in two sizes and is too cute for words. Let us know prior to class and we will arrange for you to put a monogram on this purse. Pattern included in class fee. Price: $30.00 Wed. Oct 15th 10am – 2pm Embellished Jacket This one button swing jacket can be made in our new two day class. You will sew this classy jacket out of wool and then embellish the collar and cuffs with yarns and wool roving, using your Baby Lock Embellisher. Price: $60.00 2 day class Tues. Dec. 2nd Fri. Dec 5th 10am – 4pm Embellish This! Are you interested in a new, unusual and one of a kind gift idea? If so, this class using the Baby Lock Embellisher is for you. Using wool roving and silk shantung you will create your own unique scarf perfect for holiday wearing or giving. Once you make one, you will want to make many more, each unique and beautiful. Supply kits will be available for an added fee. We have one machine we can set up for an interested buyer. Price: $40.00 Tues. Sept 23rd Sat. Oct 4th Tues. Oct 14th 10am-1pm Fabric Doodles Try this exciting technique to custom paint a picture on your fabric. Does the idea of painting scare you? Don’t be afraid! If you can trace and color with crayons, you can handle this! If you can hold a paint brush, you can handle this! Now the really scary part, you will need to free motion quilt. But rest easy, you can do that too! All the old rules for free motion quilting are thrown out the window with this technique. Try it and love it! Price: $40.00 Fri. Oct 31st 10am – 4pm Light House Wall Hanging Join Kim for three day long sessions as you create a Lighthouse wall hanging. You will embroider, piece, paint and free motion quilt your way to a heart warming wall hanging. Kim will teach the Madeira appliqué with water soluble thread technique. Price: $100.00 3 day class Mon. Nov. 10th Mon. Nov. 17th Mon. Dec. 1st 10am-3pm Lone Star Quilt Everyone has been asking for this class since seeing our 2007 Stash Dash Quilt. We have since found a new method to make the star come together with ease. No more need to cut diamonds or work with bias edges. Chris will step you though this easy technique to create your own masterpiece. Homework is assigned between classes!!! Price: $60.00 2 day class Wed. Sept 17th Wed. Oct 8th 10am-4pm New Joy Know How FREE instructional class for those who have purchased their New Joy Quilting Frame from us at Carolina Sew-N-Vac. Kim will discuss rolling on the quilt top, batting and backing, how to get the perfect height adjustment, as well as the do’s and don’ts to make machine quilting easy. Don’t feel intimidated. Join Kim for an informative hour + as she shares all her tricks and tips on the New Joy Quilting Frame. FREE Wed. Oct. 1st 2:30pm ~3:30pm Organized Chaos Do you ever feel that your life is one chaotic moment to the next? Why not take a break for a day and “Organize Your Chaos?” This quilt pattern is incredible especially when sewn out of batiks. And rest assured, we have the batiks you need! Come in and see our stunning sample. Price: $40.00 Sat. Nov. 22nd 10am – 3pm Rag Quilt This is probably our most popular class ever. A simple combination of cotton fabrics backed with flannels will allow you to make a quilt without batting. You will complete the quilt in class and just need to take it home and snip the seam allowances. After a run through the wash, you will have a stunning rag quilt. If you have not made one yet, be sure to sign up today. Price: $40.00 Fri. Sept. 12th Fri. Oct. 24th 10am – 4pm Rose Sampler Block of the Month Ladies, this is the class you have been waiting for! You will be astounded by the beauty of this quilt. Learn needle turn appliqué to create Baltimore Album style quilt blocks. This class will meet the last Tues. of each month for a new block. Newcomers welcome in each class. This block of the month style class will provide you the opportunity to stitch a dream quilt. Price: $15.00/class Tues. Aug 26th Tues. Sept. 30th Tues. Oct 28th Tues. Nov.25th Tues. Dec. 30th 10am – 12pm Quilt in a Day Log Cabin This Log Cabin Quilt Block is an old time favorite. It is easy enough for you to learn how to sew the block and get your quilt top completed in one day. The strip piecing method by Eleanor Burns is simply the best! You cut, piece, square up, and lay out your blocks all in one day. This is a great class for beginning quilters. Price: $40.00 Tues. Sept. 9th Sat. Sept 20th Tues. Oct 7th 10am-3/4pm Stack, Slash, and Embellish Start with the basic stack and slash method of quilting and add a twist. You will add assorted trims to this quilt as we go, to give it an added flair.
