Always a crowd pleaser, Kim is sure to lead you down the path of inspiration with this lecture demo. Kim has created a trunk show of creative, artistic and useful items using your sewing and embroidery machines. Let her show you how easy it is to quilt with an embroidery machine, make numerous gifts all in the hoop, create stunning cutwork gifts, and make gifts from fat quarters and 2 1/2” strips. Her creativity is only surpassed by her ability to inspire.

Join Kim as she shows you how to transform an ordinary jacket into the “extraordinary”. She will share a jacket for each day of the week plus a spare! From casual to elegant, Kim has you covered. Quilted Sweatshirt jackets have always been popular. But Kim will take you way beyond the basics. She will discuss using a sweatshirt as the base as well as other materials. She will also touch on getting the right fit and style in your jacket. Techniques discussed will include embroidery, appliqué, decorative stitching, couching, free motion quilting, prairie points, and embellishing with yarns, threads, beads, and texture. Numerous different piecing methods will be discussed as well. Once you see all of Kim’s techniques, you will be inspired to create your own wardrobe of original jackets!

Meet Joan Friedrich
 Baby Lock Educator and Event Specialist: Joan is an avid and longtime sewer, bringing many years of experience to Baby Lock.
She is an experienced quilter who loves to design dimensional and pictorial quilts.
In addition to her love of quilting, she also sews beautiful heirloom pieces, and enjoys creating home dec items.
Joan resides in northern Alabama, with her husband on a large ranch, along with her growing collection of fabrics and sewing machines. Now traveling, she enthusiastically conveys her love and expertise of sewing, while conducting programs for Baby Lock.
