Paper Piecing 101:
Paper piecing or foundation piecing is an easy way to achieve those elusive perfect points when quilting! If you can sew a straight line on a printed line, you can do this! It really will amaze you how perfect your blocks can be. Come join Johnnie as she explores the 50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars book by Carol Doak. Feel free to choose any star you want, or mix and match.

Paper Piecing 101 Supply List
50 Fabulous Paper-Pieced Stars Book
Fabric according to star pattern of choice
Photocopies of star pattern (please make enough copies to complete the number of stars you wish to make, plus extra for mistakes! It is important to use copies all made from the same copy machine.)
Add a quarter ruler
Heavy piece of cardstock or thin cardboard
Thread to blend with fabrics
Pins
Rotary cutter
*Small iron, pressing mat, and cutting mat to use next to your sewing machine will come in very handy
Basic sewing supplies
Sewing machine with new needle
Prior to class please precut all pieces.
(It might help to sort pieces in separate ziplock bags with corresponding letters or numbers to match pattern and cutting guide.)
